"The Girl on the Train"

Updated: Apr 27, 2021

Are you sure you saw what you saw?

The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins is a suspenseful thriller that kept me guessing throughout. It pulled me in and I did not want to stop reading.

Rachel rides the same train every day. She looks out the window every day and see's the most idyllic couple. But one day, the wife disappears and Rachel thinks she saw something on the train that will change everything.

The Twist

Even though Rachel, the main character, was drunk most of the time, I really liked her. She kept the story interesting and kept me invested in finishing the book instead of giving up on it. Her doubt in her own memories is what kept this a thriller for me. There's nothing like not believing your own mind and doubting yourself.

The one thing that I did not like was the plot twist. Once it happened I was like "That's it?? REALLY?? Come on...that could have been a lot better." It was just a little disappointing in the end.

4/5 stars for this one
