“One Day in December”

Cozy holiday romance with shocking twists.

One Day in December by Josie Silver was exactly what I needed when I first started reading it. It is a rom-com with some drama and disaster. It was cozy, it was cute, it was interesting, it was suspenseful. I loved that it was set in England and spanned over years of time. This made me really grow to love the characters and care about their journey throughout the book. I do have to admit that I got about halfway through and had to stop because I was super sad and did not want to think about relationships so I jumped back into it like a year and a half later. I'm wondering if I would have liked it less or more if I had just finished it when I had started.

I did have some issues with the concept of the story. I do not want to go into too much detail because I do not want to spoil it but some of the characters just kind of ticked me off. Their decisions were terrible at times and sometimes I was yelling in my head at them to not do certain things. But in the end, I was a bit happier, however, I think the ending was a bit of a cliche when it comes to rom-coms. It's been done before.

Overall I gave this 4/5 stars. I am excited to read more from Josie Silver. I do have another novel from her already lined up to read!
